Divine Connection - Part 4
Scripture Reading - Hebrews 13:18 KJV
Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
Greetings fellow believer in the Awesome Name of Jesus may God’s Grace smile upon you this day while he fills you with all Peace. Today we are continuing on the ways of God concerning being led by the Holy Spirit of God. This means all Children of God ought to be led by the Holy Spirit. When we are operating within God’s Will it allows us to be in the right place at the right time for the right things to happen. In the first lesson entitled Divine Connections - Part 1 we mentioned a little on what you could do to be led of God. We mentioned that daily fellowship with God is how the Good Lord will direct your steps. In the next lesson (Diving Connections - Part 2) it stated that when we (ihlcc) speak of daily fellowship with God we are speaking about two specific things knowing (understanding) The Word of God and following The Spirit of God. In this Lesson (Part 4) we share our thoughts on “Conscience” because a lot of decision making comes from your “conscience” whether you realize it or not. When we first come to Christ we have to decide which bad things to stop and which good things to pick-up as noted in Hebrews 9:14 KJV which states, “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your “conscience” from dead works to serve the living God?” Yes, our mind starts becoming renewed so that we can glorify God better in thoughts, words and deeds. Your “conscience” helps you follow God’s Will so that you can be in the right place at the right time for the right things to happen for you. It is said if you are familiar with the Word of God because it fills your heart your “conscience” is a safe guide. Those broken vessels (people who live a life without God) have a skewed image of life and their “conscience” will allow them to do almost anything. Yes, their “conscience” will still try to influence them to do good but they are prone to gossip, lie, steal, fornicate and even murder (etc…) due to the influence of the evil one upon them and the nature of the flesh within them. If people ignore their “conscience” consistently it becomes dull and weak such that the person doesn’t even hear it anymore. Without a clear guide of right and wrong the “conscience” God gave us to help us follow His Will doesn’t work right. Why? You say it is because the gifts and products of God only work right in God. Yes, in Christ Jesus faith, love, mercy, peace, wisdom, understanding and light all come to life. When plants are placed in good ground (nutritious dirt) they thrive. However if those same plants are removed from the good ground having no life source (no foundation) they die rather quickly. Have you ever done something godly and smiled about it when you thought about it? That is your “conscience” confirming that you accomplished God’s Will. Have you ever prayed for someone that you knew need help and felt good about your prayer being inline with God’s Will. That is your “conscience” at work in your heart. Have you ever done something you wish you didn’t do and felt bad about it later? Your “conscience” is convicting you of wrong (sin). Have you ever spoke badly about someone and afterwards you wish you could take it back? Here again the “conscience” is working. Have you ever been around people who are ungodly and you knew in your heart that they were speaking negatively about you just because you’re a Christian? This example is a witness of “conscience” according to 1 Peter 3:16 KJV which states, “Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.” You see dear believer God gives us a good “conscience” that is rooted in His Love but we must keep it there to get the right result or it could bear witness to the wrong thing (the wrong spirit). Yes, we must purpose to always follow God’s Love in the light of God’s Word knowing that The Good Lord Jesus will guide us into all truth and righteousness when we follow His Path for your life. “Conscience” is said to be the voice of your spirit with the witness of God’s Holy Spirit that should be followed and esteemed highly. We, the children of God must purpose to keep a clear “conscience”, it doesn’t just happen automatically because we are believers. Acts 24:16 KJV states it this way, “And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.” We recommend keeping a soft (sensitive) “conscience” that seeks to please God continuously and is quick to repent when convicted of sins and quick to praise God when good things happen to them. Remember, dear Child of God, being in the right place at the right time usually involves other people so we should always act in God’s Love. People are God’s most prized possessions and we esteem people highly for Christ (Loves) sake. So guard you heart with all peace and love and doing (performing) God’s Will to keep a clear “conscience” today, tomorrow and forever in Jesus Name. Amen!
